Holland Elementary School Interior Renovations
The City of Boston and the Boston Public Schools required a major remodeling of the John P. Holland School in Dorchester, Ma. The project was faced with a significant scheduling challenge in that the work needed to be completed in a ten-month time period to ensure the building was ready for the new school year. The scope of work in this 100,000 square foot building comprised new classroom walls, ceilings, flooring, handicapped elevator and painting; total renovation to toilet rooms, locker rooms and pool; new HVAC, plumbing, fire alarm, fire suppression, intercom and electrical systems. A team approach was required, especially given the fact that literally hundreds of unforeseen conditions were encountered and dealt with throughout the course of the project. Despite these challenges, the work was completed approximately one month ahead of schedule.
