OVERVIEW
W.T. Rich was hired in May of 2019 to manage the construction of a middle school addition to the existing Excel Academy High School.
Excel Academy Bremen Middle School consists of a new 3-story, 19,500 square foot building that is adjacent to the existing high school at 401 Bremen Street. The interior space includes student classrooms, a community circle gathering space, breakout rooms, administrative offices, a small daycare space for the children of faculty and staff, and other educational spaces. A portion of the first floor is elevated to allow parking below.
Exterior work included a new parking lot with a circular loop; new water; gas and sewer services; stormwater management systems; regrading; and landscaping. The majority of this construction occurred while the adjacent Excel Academy High School was active. W.T. Rich maintained constant communication with the school during the construction process to ensure safety concerns were met throughout the duration of the project.
